The short answer
RightStart Child Development Care Centre is a licensed early-childhood group in Penang with three campuses: two on Jalan Pantai Jerjak in Bayan Lepas and one at Batu Uban in Gelugor. We take children from 18 months to 12 years across four programmes: taska for toddlers, junior preschool, school readiness, and after-school care with tuition for Standard 1 to Standard 6. Open 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, JKM taska registration P/TI 004/2022.

Parent questions, answered plainly
What ages does RightStart take?
From 18 months to 12 years. Taska covers 18 months to three years, Junior covers three to four, School Readiness covers five to six, and after-school care with tuition covers Standard 1 to Standard 6.
Do you take primary school children as well?
Yes. Our after-school care and tuition programme covers Standard 1 to Standard 6: your child is collected, fed, homework is supervised and checked, and weak subjects are coached, with care until 6.30pm. See after-school care and tuition.
Where exactly are your centres in Penang?
Two are in Bayan Lepas on Jalan Pantai Jerjak, at No. 24 (Jalan Pantai Jerjak 1) and No. 15 (Jalan Pantai Jerjak 17). The third is at 38 Persiaran Batu Uban, The Century, 11700 Gelugor.
What time do you open and close?
Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6.30pm. The early start is deliberate: many of our parents work shifts in the Bayan Lepas free industrial zone.
Are you a registered taska?
Yes. RightStart holds Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat taska registration P/TI 004/2022 and is registered with SSM under 0230517-X. You are welcome to ask to see both when you visit.
What languages do you use with the children?
English is the main language of instruction, with daily Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin exposure. Our teachers switch to the child's home language while they are settling in.
How much are the fees?
Fees depend on the programme and whether you need full day or half day. We send a current fee sheet on request so you get today's number, not an outdated one. See how our fees work.
Can I visit before deciding?
Please do. We would rather you saw an ordinary Tuesday than a polished open day. Book a centre visit and we will confirm a time on WhatsApp.
